Schedule: 5:30 AM – 6:30 AM start time (until floor is clear / dispatch complete) Location: Romulus, MI Compensation: Hourly contractor pay Job Overview: We are seeking reliable and hardworking Sorters to support our daily delivery operations. This role is essential to ensuring an efficient morning dispatch, accurate route preparation, and smooth driver loadout. You will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment handling packages, organizing freight, and assisting drivers as needed. Key Responsibilities: Package Sorting & Organization • Sort packages by route, zone, or sequence according to morning dispatch needs • Lift, move, stack, and stage parcels of varying sizes • Maintain an organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency Route Preparation & Loadout Support • Assist dispatch in preparing routes for driver pickup • Stage packages in the correct lanes for driver loadout • Help verify route accuracy and correct mis-sorts • Communicate any discrepancies or concerns to dispatch/supervisors Driver Assist (as needed) • Support drivers with locating packages • Help with final loadout to ensure every route leaves fully prepared • Remain available until all routes are loaded and out for delivery Schedule & Expectations: • Start time is between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM, depending on daily volume • Work continues until the floor is clear and dispatch is complete • Must be punctual, dependable, and ready to work in a fast-paced environment • Ability to lift/move heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) • Must have reliable transportation to and from the warehouse Requirements: • Must be 21+ • Clean background (NO FELONIES) • Ability to work on your feet and lift throughout the shift • Strong communication and teamwork skills • Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly as volume changes • Previous warehouse or sorting experience is a plus but not required Why This Role Matters: Sorters are the backbone of morning dispatch.
