Accountable for quality, program and service line growth and development, service and physician deployment, integration and consistency, clinical strategy to inform operational budgeting and capital allocation, and access to services for the designated geographical area. This role works with the service line leaders, clinical council, Sutter Health leaders, and medical staff to drive quality and service line development initiatives across the system. Maintains operational responsibility for specific departments/services at each facility, including responsibilities and matrix operating responsibilities. This role partners with the service line leader to build and manage the activities and resources of assigned departments. Ensures coordinated and harmonious working relationships within and among assigned departments, other hospital departments, the medical foundation, hospitals, medical staff, and the public. This role will have indirect oversight over foundation and hospital-based service line leaders. Through this dotted line reporting relationship, it will ensure the implementation of the strategic direction for the service line and will drive the execution of its primary responsibilities. Lastly, this role will be responsible for maintaining the appropriate alignment with key Sutter Health system-wide initiatives and service line colleagues, ensuring that activities within the system, operating unit, and division strategy are integrated within ambulatory and acute resources. Job Description: EDUCATION: Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma Master's degree TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 18 years of recent relevant experience SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable standards and regulations. Understanding of clinical operations and workflows, and how operational processes/workflows impact other department operations. Working knowledge and thorough understanding of health care laws, licensing and accreditation requirements, and clinical standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance. Knowledge of emerging trends and regulatory changes, and how they impact operations. Business acumen, demonstrating ability to establish goals and standards to meet long-term and short-term objectives and make sound business decisions. Demonstrates credible leadership presence with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness, and authority; and the ability to engage others. Demonstrates familiarity with various methods of care delivery and quality improvement concepts. Demonstrated progressive management ability in providing administrative direction to innovative programs within the healthcare field. Written and verbal communication skills, as well as effective human resource skills, are essential. Demonstration of effective management skills, knowledge of hospital administration, and agency compliance in patient care delivery systems. Pay Range is $295,817.60 to $473,304.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
