SUMMARY The Corporate Accounts - Area Account Manager in Logistics is responsible for the profitable and efficient management of client accounts within the logistics and supply chain sector. This includes ensuring operational excellence, optimizing logistics performance, and strengthening client relationships to achieve service, revenue, and profitability goals. The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between clients and internal operations, ensuring that all transportation, warehousing, and distribution activities align with customer requirements and company objectives. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS • Drive profitability by managing existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities within the logistics sector. • Develop and execute client-specific logistics strategies to improve supply chain efficiency, service delivery, and customer satisfaction. • Ensure operational and quality standards are met across all logistics activities, from order fulfillment to final delivery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Manage day-to-day client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for all logistics-related needs and concerns. • Develop and implement strategic account plans focused on logistics performance, cost control, and continuous improvement. • Coordinate with internal departments (operations, transportation, warehousing, customer service) to ensure timely and accurate execution of logistics solutions. • Analyze account performance metrics such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, and service quality, making data-driven recommendations for improvement. • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key clients to present performance results and propose process enhancements. • Negotiate contracts, rates, and service terms with clients and vendors to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction. • Support business development through cross-selling and upselling of logistics services, including transportation management, warehousing, and distribution solutions. • Collaborate with finance to monitor account profitability, manage billing accuracy, and oversee collections in accordance with company policies. • Ensure compliance with all transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements. • Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and stay current with logistics trends and technologies to provide innovative solutions to clients. REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 3–5 years of experience in account management, logistics operations, or transportation management required. • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships within a logistics or supply chain environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. • Proficiency in logistics management systems (TMS/WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM software preferred. • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
