5+ years of Citrix and Windows Server experience, strong troubleshooting and communication skills, bachelor's degree in IT or related field, and professional experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.

POSITION PURPOSE / WHY OPEN This position is being opened due to resource constraints within the existing team. The team requires additional expertise to develop and operate a fully supported Citrix-based VDI solution that adheres to change management, security, and usability standards, while minimizing service disruptions. PROJECT SCOPE / DESCRIPTION The contractor will provide expert-level support in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) compliant VDI environment. This includes technical architecture, engineering support, Windows system image management, Citrix administration, and one-on-one training to designated System Administrators. DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The selected candidate will be responsible for the following: Technical Duties: • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for Citrix/XenApp environments. • Monitor and maintain the VDI platform using tools like NetScaler and ControlUP. • Manage and troubleshoot end-user sessions and backend infrastructure. • Maintain and patch Citrix platform server systems. • Support Citrix XenDesktop Broker and VMware delivery infrastructure. • Ensure virtual sessions operate as intended, handling escalated issues from the helpdesk. • Deploy and support core Microsoft services: Active Directory, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, and Group Policy. • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction for all supported services. • Document system configurations and update technical documentation. Team Collaboration & Support: • Participate in client meetings and team updates. • Provide one-on-one training to team members and System Administrators. • Act as the technical SME (Subject Matter Expert) in the VDI space. REQUIRED SKILLS (RANKED IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE) • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix administration, including XenServer in production. • 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure (AD, DNS, DHCP, ADFS, WSUS). • 5+ years in design and architecture of Citrix/Windows environments. • Proven Tier 1 through Tier 4 support experience. • Experience with Citrix/XenApp, VMware, Citrix App Layering, and scripting. • In-depth knowledge of Citrix CLI commands and Citrix port configurations. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Experience delivering team training. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative mindset. PREFERRED SKILLS • Citrix Certification (CCA-V, CCP-V, or higher) • Experience resolving ambiguity in complex VDI environments • Proven experience in developing and maintaining update processes • Effective communication skills for various audience sizes • Experience in structured root cause analysis and problem resolution • Infrastructure planning and execution at enterprise scale REQUIRED EDUCATION • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience supporting a large-scale enterprise Windows and Citrix environment. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS • None required; Citrix certifications preferred.
