Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Purchaser to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing high-quality food products to ensure our operations run smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food procurement processes, excellent negotiation skills, and a passion for quality ingredients. Responsibilities • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure the best quality and pricing of food products. • Negotiate contracts and terms with vendors to secure favorable agreements. • Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to maintain optimal stock levels. • Conduct regular market research to stay updated on food trends and pricing fluctuations. • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and preferences for food supplies. • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in all purchasing activities. • Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and inventory levels. Requirements • Proven experience in food purchasing or procurement, preferably in a distribution or wholesale environment. • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with suppliers. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is highly desirable. • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite. • A passion for food quality and sustainability is a plus.
