About the Role As Director of Accounting, Royalties & Content Accounting at Suno, you will lead the function responsible for accurate, scalable accounting across our content and royalty ecosystem. You will combine deep technical expertise with a highly collaborative leadership style. This will require building strong relationships across Finance, Operations, Legal, and Product, while developing and mentoring a growing team. This role is both strategic and hands-on. You will help define accounting frameworks for innovative, AI-driven music products, strengthen processes and controls as we scale, and ensure our content accounting practices support Suno’s long-term growth. What You'll Do Lead and own end-to-end accounting for royalties, content costs, and revenue share arrangements, including monthly close and financial reporting Partner closely with Legal, Product, FP&A, and Operations to align on contract interpretation, accounting treatment, and business objectives Oversee accounting for complex agreements, including licensing contracts, minimum guarantees, and evolving royalty models Establish and refine scalable processes, controls, and documentation to support rapid growth and increasing complexity Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing content accounting team with a focus on collaboration, clarity, and continuous improvement Serve as a key stakeholder in audits, working cross-functionally to ensure timely, accurate, and well-supported outcomes Drive accounting strategy for new initiatives, including product launches, system implementations, and international expansion Act as a trusted thought partner to finance and company leadership, translating technical accounting into clear business implications What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with leadership responsibility in content, media, music, or technology-driven environments Deep experience with royalty accounting, licensing models, or content-based business economics Deep knowledge of GAAP and strong judgment in applying accounting principles to complex, non-standard transactions Proven experience leading teams with a collaborative, inclusive, and development-oriented management style Strong ability to partner cross-functionally and influence in a fast-moving organization Experience owning or overseeing month-end close, audits, and accounting policy development Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting topics to both technical and non-technical audiences Nice to Have CPA or equivalent certification Background in high-growth consumer tech, media, music, or AI-driven companies Experience scaling accounting functions, systems, or teams during periods of rapid growth Familiarity with SOX, internal controls, and audit readiness in a scaling environment Additional Notes Applicants must be eligible to work in the US. This role requires working on-site 5 days a week in our SF or NYC office.
