Role Overview: As a Field Service Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our extensive equipment fleet to ensure reliability and safety for our customers. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude to support our mission of being the first choice in equipment rental. What You'll Do: - You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of rental equipment including pumps, scaffolding, and construction tools. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards. - You will collaborate with the rental and logistics teams to coordinate equipment availability and service schedules. - You will document all service activities accurately in our maintenance management system. - You will provide technical support and guidance to customers and team members. - You will adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working in the field. - You will assist in training junior technicians and share best practices. - You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or field service technician roles. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with heavy construction or industrial equipment. - Certifications in equipment repair or maintenance (e.g., ASE, EPA). - Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). - Welding or fabrication skills.
