Role Overview: As a Field Service Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our extensive equipment fleet to ensure reliability and safety for our customers. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach to support our operations and uphold our reputation as the industry leader. What You'll Do: - You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of rental equipment including pumps, scaffolding, and construction tools. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards. - You will collaborate with the rental and operations teams to coordinate equipment availability and service schedules. - You will document all service activities accurately in our maintenance management system. - You will provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other team members. - You will ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. - You will assist in training and onboarding new technicians as needed. - You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and efficiency. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or field service technician roles. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to work on diverse equipment. - Proficiency with diagnostic tools and maintenance software. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in the equipment rental or construction industry. - Certifications related to equipment repair, such as ASE or EPA certifications. - Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. - Experience with welding or fabrication.
