Role Overview: As a Field Service Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals, you will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing our extensive equipment fleet to ensure reliability and safety for our customers. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach to support our operations and uphold our reputation as the industry leader. What You'll Do: - You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of rental equipment including pumps, scaffolding, and construction tools. - You will perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment safety and functionality. - You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to quickly resolve issues. - You will document all service activities accurately and communicate effectively with dispatch and management. - You will assist in training junior technicians and share best practices to improve team performance. - You will ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies during all service activities. - You will manage parts inventory and order supplies as needed to support repair work. - You will provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to service requests and minimizing equipment downtime. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or field service technician roles. - Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. - Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working in the equipment rental or construction industry. - Certifications in equipment repair or maintenance (e.g., ASE, EPA). - Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). - Ability to operate company vehicles and heavy equipment safely.
