As a Field Service Technician 2 at Sunbelt Rentals, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our extensive equipment fleet to ensure reliability and safety for our customers. This position requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused attitude to support our mission of being the customer's first choice. What You'll Do: - You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of rental equipment including pumps, scaffolding, and construction tools. - You will perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment meets safety and operational standards. - You will document all service activities accurately and maintain detailed records of repairs and parts used. - You will collaborate with the rental and operations teams to prioritize service requests and minimize equipment downtime. - You will provide technical support and guidance to less experienced technicians. - You will ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. - You will participate in continuous training to stay current with new equipment technologies and repair techniques. What You Bring: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or field service technician roles, preferably in the rental or construction industry. - Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins. - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. - Excellent communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Certification in equipment repair or a related technical field. - Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. - Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). - Welding or fabrication skills.
