Corporate Communications Specialist Remote, 8-month temporary role with a leading international medical device company! As the Corporate Communications Specialist, you will lead issues and crisis management activities to protect the reputation of the company and develop communications programs that promote the company’s brand and reputation. You will be a key point of contact for corporate media relations, crisis communications, and executive communications. This highly visible role requires an individual who is an excellent writer and can communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external audiences, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across the organization, and demonstrate strategic thinking and initiative. Corporate Communications Specialist Qualifications: • Ability to work on Pacific Standard Time schedule • High School Diploma • 10+ years of communications experience working with and providing guidance to executive leaders in a global organization • Proven crisis communications / issues management background (corporate, enterprise, or regulated industry) • Strong writing capability: media statements, leadership talking points, FAQ development • Experience supporting large-scale or global organizations and cross-functional teams • Proven experience effectively managing crisis communications for a global enterprise in a regulated industry • Demonstrated corporate media relations and executive communications experience • Ability to develop and execute a communications plan • Strong writing skills with the ability to develop press releases, talking points, FAQs and other materials • Direct experience working for multiple stakeholders and delivering effective communications strategies across channels • Strategic thinker, able to understand the context and connect dots to stay ahead of issues and maximize opportunities, but willing to do the work for effective execution • Proven ability to amplify corporate narrative, drive audience engagement, measure and report on engagement metrics, pivot initiatives as needed, and deliver actionable results/insights back to the business • Excellent project management and follow-through with minimal supervision • Strong problem-solving skills, including a demonstrated ability to know when problems can be solved unilaterally vs. escalated • Experience with M&A communications (internal and/or external) is preferred • Communications, media relations, or public relations academic or career background is preferred Corporate Communications Specialist Duties & Responsibilities: • Support the company’s crisis communications program: Set proactive and reactive courses of action to public relations issues and crisis situations. Brief the leadership team and key stakeholders on sensitive and/or controversial issues and prepare scenario plans and recommendations • Manage urgent or sensitive company issues (product problems, litigation, public disclosures, operational incidents) • Manage corporate and executive communications from strategy to execution in support of quarterly earnings, M&A, product launches, events and speaking engagements, and companywide announcements. • Work cross functionally with key stakeholders including investor relations, product, legal, medical affairs, and the executive team to develop and execute proactive and reactive programs that align to corporate initiatives and priorities. • Develop messaging and content that advances our corporate narrative and aligns with business objectives, including press releases/announcements, articles, bios, fact sheets, talk tracks, and social media content. • Build and nurture relationships with key corporate media, directly and through agency partners. Manage media inquiries and prepare company spokespeople for interviews. • Ensure the success of our integrated communications efforts – from campaign strategy and execution to the development and implementation of communications plans spanning internal and external tactics. • Drive alignment in corporate communications initiatives.
