What You’ll Do: Own the design, development, and operation of Summit’s internal automation and provisioning platform Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and automation workflows that support customer onboarding and infrastructure provisioning Develop and maintain automation for Windows-based infrastructure and Active Directory environments Design resilient workflows with strong error handling, logging, and alerting Partner cross-functionally with Infrastructure, Operations, and Client Experience teams Maintain and improve cloud services in Microsoft Azure with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, automation, and infrastructure layers Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability What You’ll Deliver: A stable, scalable automation platform that supports reliable customer provisioning Well-structured, maintainable application code and automation Clear technical documentation and operational runbooks Automated workflows that reduce manual effort and operational risk Secure, well-managed cloud infrastructure aligned with Summit standards Ongoing improvements to deployment processes, observability, and technical debt You’ll Thrive in This Role If You: Enjoy owning systems end-to-end and being accountable for how they run in production Are comfortable working across software, automation, and infrastructure layers Have strong problem-solving skills and enjoy digging into complex technical issues Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners Value clean, maintainable systems and thoughtful documentation Are self-directed, organized, and comfortable making technical decisions Technical Depth Snapshot (For Those Who Want the Details) This role operates across a broad technical surface area. You’ll work with Python and Django for backend services and APIs, PowerShell for automation in Windows-based environments, and Microsoft Azure for cloud services including serverless functions, automation, containers, and identity. The platform integrates with Active Directory, virtualized infrastructure, and third-party systems to deliver reliable, automated provisioning at scale. Bonus Points: Experience with workflow orchestration or automation platforms, ideally Prefect Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Bicep, ARM, Terraform, etc.) Background supporting Windows-based, virtualized, or DaaS environments (Hyper-V, SCVMM) Experience in MSP, SaaS, or regulated-industry environments Frontend experience (React or similar) to support internal tools At Summit, our culture and core values are important to us.
