The nursing Clinical Coordinator serves as a liaison for communication with clinical agencies and faculty regarding clinical student learning experiences. The coordinator maintains information regarding orientation and facility requirements and reviews student records to verify compliance with health requirements. The coordinator serves as liaison to clinical agencies to secure student placements, increase the number of clinical placements, track agency, issues, requirements and learning opportunities. Duties And Responsibilities • Assist in the identification, recruitment, and touring of new clinical/practicum agency student placement sites under the direction of Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing. • Negotiates clinical schedules with existing clinical sites and develops the rotation schedules in collaboration with Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing. • Collaborates with agency staff to maintain currency in all clinical institution contractual agreements. • In collaboration with the Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing, assist with identifying potential student learning experiences in clinical/practicum sites. • Interacts with clinical agencies to plan for and schedule student group clinical or individual senior clinical practicum preceptor rotations. • Attends required meetings at clinical affiliation agencies in collaboration with the Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing. • Attends selected community professional meetings and recruitment job fair as assigned. • Schedules and notifies students and clinical faculty regarding the clinical orientations for each student clinical group each semester. • Collaborates with the Clinical Manager, Site Coordinator and Clinical Professors to evaluate clinical sites. • Serves as a resource and support person for Clinical Adjunct Professors. • In collaboration with Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing, manages student clinical placement issues as appropriate. • Assign faculty and students to clinical facilities in collaboration with the Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing. • Accept and organize all programs concerns from faculty, staff, and students for Dean and Assistant Dean of Nursing in accordance with the college policies. Minimum Qualifications • At least two years of experience working with students and faculty in a college or university setting is preferred. • Two years of administrative clerical experience desired. • Knowledge of nursing educational program development. • Knowledge of current developments, trends, and complexities within nursing and the healthcare industry. • Demonstrate a willingness to perform and a commitment to extra-curricular responsibilities on behalf of the department and school. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. • Excellent writing skills. • Familiarity with scheduling software and computer systems. • Ability to work effectively with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
