Lead cross-functional engineering teams to plan, coordinate, monitor, and execute new product development projects for medical devices ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, 6+ years engineering/product development experience with 2+ years project management, and experience in regulated industries preferred.
As the Senior Project Manager, you will lead a cross-functional engineering team in the planning, coordinating, monitoring, and executing new product development medical device projects. In your role, you will ensure R&D projects are completed on time/cost & budget. You will support cutting-edge medical device products from the inception phase to launch for Stryker’s Surgical Technologies business unit within Stryker Instruments. You will need to be in the office 3 days a week and can work from home on other days. What you will do • Lead the team in developing the project charter and management plan. Direct, manage, monitor, and control projects. Develop a strong business case and evaluate tradeoffs within a project. • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop, manage, and own project scope. Create a detailed Work Breakdown Structure. • Develop and manage the detailed project Gantt chart. Analyze critical paths, major workstreams, and intersecting milestones. Own the project schedule. • Collaborate with cross-functional managers to define project budgets. Monitor and maintain costs within budget. • Partner with the project team to create Quality Plans using 2-3 quality planning tools and techniques. Monitor and maintain plans. • Develop a project risk management plan. Identify, analyze, and understand project risks; develop and monitor a risk response plan. • Estimate, acquire, and assign cross-functional project resources. Define each team member's role, responsibility, and deliverables. • Provide direct feedback to the functional manager on performance reviews. • Develop a Stakeholder management plan for the project based on identifying, analyzing, and understanding Stakeholder expectations. What you need Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field • Minimum 6 years of engineering or product development experience, with a strong focus on new product development (NPD), including at least 2 years of project management experience leading cross-functional teams through full product development cycles. • Proven ability to manage technical scope, schedules, and stakeholder alignment in an R&D or innovation-driven environment. Preferred Qualifications: • New Product Development experience or product launch experience • Utilization of Agile and rolling-wave or waterfall planning methodology • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes for product design • Led or developed products for medical devices or regulated industries • Experience developing injection-molded products and/or single-use products • PMP or equivalent preferred
