Job Description: As an Associate Engineering Manager, you will champion a disciplined manufacturing engineering culture that promotes patient-focused quality, customer satisfaction, and innovation as a way of life while ensuring the achievement of all necessary deliverables. You will have the responsibility of managing project managers and engineers and are accountable for delivery of best-in-class results. This role involves recruitment, performance management, development, and engagement of a team. This individual will be a key contributor to key strategies within the Instruments Customer Experience and Transformation Enablement team. Responsibilities Include: • Leads process improvement and LEAN projects within the Service Depot and participates in site or campus operational initiatives • Develops and strengthens engineering involvement and leadership within continuous improvement initiatives • Develops a robust Product Lifecycle Management (PLCM) approach to service repairs from an engineering perspective, including documentation and fixture availability • Accountable for maximization of resources available to deliver outstanding results on key performance metrics • Manages an engineering team to meet customer requirements and deliver KPIs in Quality, Service, Cost and People Development • Participates in budget setting for the engineering team • Partners with global service operations, supply chain, engineering, and other groups to solve manufacturing and process issues to drive customer satisfaction • Develops, enhances, and optimizes engineering performance metrics, including line down resolution time and yearly cost savings calculations • Drives a proactive and compliant approach to environmental, health and safety • Champions 6S process, standards, and objectives through coaching, mentoring, and setting direction • Inspires others by setting the standards, building trust and partnerships, and collaborating and encouraging diverse perspectives always acting with integrity • Creates a positive employee relations environment and facilitates high engagement across team and with cross functional teams • Provides timely feedback and review and ensures all performance issues are dealt with in a constructive, fair, and prompt manner; ensures that all employees are treated with fairness and respect • Support global service center ProCare contract growth through implementation of affordable global repair processes Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required • 6+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment • 2+ years of people leadership experience Additional skills: • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of a production environment to the completion of complex assignments • Demonstrated leadership aptitude to work with people and set direction as part of a cross functional team • Excellent knowledge & computer skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word • Business acumen with an ability to deliver process improvement objectives • Good knowledge of GMP / FDA regulatory requirements, housekeeping, and health and safety • Genuine interest in investing in people and facilitates individual and team engagement and development • Ability to coach, provide effective feedback and manage performance • Problem-solving methodology experience required with process knowledge desirable • Can interpret and analyze information and translate into actions • Excellent influencing and communication skills
