May consider residents of surrounding states (NM, OK, AR or LA). This position could include travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school. The remote Assistant Manager, School Operations works with the Manager, School Operations to perform and/or oversee all aspects of school operations with an emphasis on compliance activities at all levels, internal and external to the K12 organization and functions as a member of the school leadership team. This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school. Works closely with Manager, School Operations to project manage major school events, such as Enrollment, Semester End Transition, Year End Transition, and State Testing; Develops relationships with education vendors, the districts, state and other education stakeholders; Helps maintain student records and data; creates/implements/documents processes that ensure student data validity in K12 and 3rd party databases; Assists Manager, School Operations with local, state, and federal reporting requirements; Works with Manager, School Operations and administrative staff to ensure the school is compliant with and meets all audit requirements; Oversees communication between the Company and districts related to student enrollments; Assists Manager, School Operations with the development of school policies and procedures, e.g. assists with the Company’s efforts nationally to develop policies and procedures, training standards and curriculum enhancements; Assists with a wide variety of personnel support issues and may support key office positions. Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2-10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field AND Three (3) years of operations, project, or product management/support experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to clear required background check DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Management experience Formal project management experience in fast-paced or start-up environment WORK EVVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
