Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring that all purchasing activities align with company goals and objectives. The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for commercial and residential construction projects. This role ensures that all procurement activities support project schedules, budgets, and quality standards while building and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Duties • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support multiple construction projects. • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for construction materials, equipment, and subcontracted services. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and maintain quality standards. • Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and ensure timely availability of materials and equipment on job sites. • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and estimators to forecast material needs and align procurement with project schedules. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, material pricing, and industry best practices. • Review and manage vendor contracts, warranties, and service agreements. • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and invoices, for compliance and reporting. • Support cost control efforts by aligning purchases with project budgets and coding expenses properly. • Assist in developing preferred vendor lists and strengthening supplier partnerships. Qualifications • 3+ years of procurement experience, preferably in commercial and/or residential construction. • Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontracting services. • Proven ability to negotiate and manage vendor relationships. • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, or construction management tools (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, Sage, or similar). • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced construction environment. Working Conditions • Office-based role with occasional supplier or site visits. • May require travel for vendor negotiations or audits.
