This role focuses on building scalable, secure, and maintainable AI agents that integrate with enterprise systems to enhance productivity, decision-making, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Python development, Azure AI services, and modern software engineering practices. Experience: • Minimum 4 years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML development. • At least 2 years of hands-on experience building and deploying Python-based solutions in Azure. Education: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Required Skills/Competencies: • Proficiency in Python, including experience with frameworks such as FastAPI, LangChain, or similar. • Strong understanding of Azure services including Azure Functions, Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure DevOps. • Experience with RESTful APIs, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines. • Familiarity with prompt engineering, vector databases (e.g., Azure AI Search, Pinecone), and LLM orchestration. • Ability to design and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable AI agent architectures. • Experience with Git, Agile methodologies, and test-driven development. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent in-person and virtual communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience. Preferred Skills: • Experience with Microsoft Graph API, Power Platform, or Microsoft 365 integration. • Ability to understand what other key enterprise applications provide and how they may interact with AI solutions. • Familiarity with data privacy, compliance, and responsible AI principles. • Knowledge of MLOps practices and model lifecycle management. • Ability to break down business processes, understand problems, and apply AI to drive efficiencies. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: • Design and implement intelligent agents that automate business processes and augment decision-making. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver AI-driven solutions. • Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems using APIs and Azure services. • Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve deployed solutions. • Document technical designs, workflows, and best practices. • Stay current with advancements in AI, LLMs, and cloud-native development. Key Competencies: • Performs advanced analytical tasks using Azure AI and data services (e.g., Azure Machine Learning, Azure Synapse Analytics) to deliver insights and models that meet business needs and adhere to enterprise standards. • Maintains deep expertise in AI/ML technologies, including model development, training, deployment, and monitoring within Azure. Provides guidance on best practices for using Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, and other specialized tools. • Conducts applied research and experimentation in AI/ML, leveraging Azure's scalable infrastructure. Develops prototypes and proof-of-concepts using tools like Azure ML Studio, Databricks, and Python-based frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow). • Evaluates emerging technologies such as generative AI, responsible AI, and edge AI. Advocates for their strategic adoption within the organization, contributing to innovation roadmaps and technical briefings. • Provides expert support in AI development methodologies, including MLOps, CI/CD pipelines for ML, and responsible AI practices. Advises on tool selection and integration within Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. • Applies data engineering and modeling techniques using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Cosmos DB to design scalable data pipelines and structures that support AI workloads. • Designs and develops AI-powered applications, integrating services like Azure Cognitive Search and custom models. Collaborates on system architecture and ensures alignment with cloud-native design principles. • Implements and manages Azure-based data stores, optimizing schema design, indexing strategies, and performance tuning for AI model consumption and inference. • Develops, tests, and deploys AI solutions using Azure ML SDK, REST APIs, and containerized environments. Ensures code quality, documentation, and adherence to security and compliance standards. • Manages integration and deployment pipelines, including model versioning, endpoint configuration, and automated testing. Uses Azure Pipelines and MLflow for reproducibility and traceability. • Executes release and deployment activities for AI models and services, including blue-green deployments, rollback strategies, and performance monitoring using Azure Monitor and Application Insights. • Supports application lifecycle management, including model retraining, drift detection, and continuous improvement. Collaborates with support teams to resolve production issues and optimize performance. • Investigates and resolves AI system issues, including model bias, performance degradation, and data quality problems. Implements corrective actions and contributes to post-mortem analyses. Uses appropriate methods and tools in the development, maintenance, control and distribution of quality and environmental standards. Makes technical changes to quality and environmental standards according to documented procedures. Distributes new and revised standards.
