Full job description Digital and Linear Media Buyer Location: Arlington, VA Strategic Media Services (SMS) is a Republican political and issue advocacy media firm. SMS is a leading media buying agency serving the needs of clients seeking political office or issue-advocacy related messages. We're looking for an ambitious candidate to join our Media Buying and Planning team. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the conception and execution of digital and linear paid media plans across all managed services while working with the full media team. Looking for a Digital Media Planner who knows how to: • Work well with a team of buyers to find the voters across all platforms including linear and digital media. • Synthesize digital media research, reports and trends to inform and create compelling media POVs and recommendations based on target audiences and client goals • Assist buying team with day-to-day media buying needs, including delivering creative specs to vendors, facilitating payment to vendors, etc. • Monitor campaign performance, optimize to achieve objectives, and analyze and report results • Execute and optimizes paid social media ad campaigns on platforms including Meta, YouTube and X. • Develop relationships with media vendors, understand the unique services/offerings of each, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts • Educate internal teams (creative, account, production and media) on digital media advertising strategies, tactics, trends and best practices Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree · A readiness to grow quickly, learn new skills, think big, and be a part of a small team. · Organized and analytical thinker with experience working with Microsoft Office. · Ideal candidates will have experience buying digital and linear media; managing cross-platform digital advertising programs, utilizing various assets including display, video, and text. • Hands-on experience with search & social buying platforms including Meta, X, YouTube and Google Ads and programmatic experience is a plus.
