Job Description Summary The Director - Cyber Threat Operations is a critical role within Stratascale’s Security Operations team who is responsible for Cyber Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Detection Engineering services. This role ensures proactive threat identification, mitigation, and continuous improvement of security operations to protect organizational assets and maintain compliance with industry standards. Role Description • Develop and execute cyber threat operations strategy aligned with organizational goals. • Build and lead proactive threat hunting programs leveraging threat intelligence, behavioral analytics, and advanced detection techniques to identify hidden threats before exploitation. • Oversee threat intelligence lifecycle, detection engineering, and proactive threat hunting. • Integrate threat intelligence into detection and response workflows for enhanced capabilities. • Drive continuous improvement using KPIs, metrics, and analytics. • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen threat mitigation efforts. • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001). • Develop partnerships with external intelligence communities and vendors for enriched threat data and collaborative defense • Mentor and develop talent for CTI analysts, threat hunters, and detection engineers Behaviors and Competencies • Leadership: Can lead strategic team initiatives, inspire others to take leadership roles, and foster a culture of shared responsibility and continuous improvement. • Strategic Thinking: Can analyze complex situations, drive organizational transformation, and adapt strategies to changing market conditions. • Business Acumen: Can provide strategic guidance and insights to drive overall business success. • Communication: Can lead and model exceptional communication at all levels of the organization, develop and implement communication strategies, and coach others to improve their communication skills. • Change Management: Can lead and model exceptional change management at all levels of the organization, can develop and implement change management strategies, and can coach others to improve their change management skills. • Collaboration: Can lead complex team projects, inspire others to collaborate effectively, and foster a culture of mutual respect and shared purpose. • Technical Expertise: Can create new applications for technical knowledge and skills and can lead the development of technical standards and procedures. • Problem-Solving: Can lead strategic problem-solving initiatives, inspire others to improve their problem-solving skills, and foster a culture of proactive problem-solving. • Results Orientation: Can inspire a culture of results-orientation across the organization, setting high standards and holding everyone accountable for achieving results. • Strategic Implementation: Can lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategic plans, inspire and guide teams, and drive organizational change to achieve strategic objectives. • Adaptability: Can drive strategic transformations, inspire others to embrace change, and foster a culture of continuous adaptation. Skill Level Requirements • Understanding of IT industry trends and dynamics, ensuring continuous learning and staying ahead of market shifts. - Expert • Skilled in strategic planning and implementation, aligning with the responsibility of developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve organizational goals. - Expert • Ability to identify and mitigate risks, aligning with the responsibility of safeguarding the organization’s operations and reputation. - Expert • Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and organizational success. - Expert • The expertise in leveraging cloud-based platforms and services to build, deploy, and manage applications and data on the internet. - Expert • The expertise in protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data. - Expert Other Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. • 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. • Expertise in SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001). • Certifications: CISSP required ; CISM, CRISC preferred. • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills. • Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events • Ability to travel 25% Preferred Skills • Threat detection and analysis, risk management, penetration testing, and cryptography. • Knowledge of compliance obligations (GDPR, HIPAA, ITAR/EAR). • Experience with cloud security and advanced threat hunting techniques. The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $200,000. The estimated on-target earnings, or OTE, which includes a base salary and bonus are $200,000 - $250,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
