Overview: The HR Operations Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy and compliance in HR processes, managing employee benefits administration, payroll support, HR systems maintenance, and generating reports to support business decisions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working with data, systems, and compliance requirements. Responsibilities: Benefits Administration Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, including health, dental, vision, disability, and retirement plans. Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HR systems and with third-party vendors. Support annual open enrollment and benefits education initiatives. Ensure compliance with benefit regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, ERISA). Create and complete monthly benefit reconcile. Payroll Support Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing, ensuring accurate time and attendance records. Review and reconcile payroll reports, identifying and resolving discrepancies. Compliance Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist with audits (internal and external) by providing necessary documentation and reports. Ensure proper recordkeeping and data retention in accordance with company policy and legal requirements. Assist with badging process when necessary. Reporting & Analytics Generate and analyze HR data reports, including headcount, turnover, compliance, and payroll metrics. Provide insights and recommendations based on data trends to support HR initiatives. Prepare reports for leadership and assist with compliance-related filings. HR Systems & Process Support Maintain HRIS data integrity and manage employee life cycle updates. Support system enhancements, troubleshooting, and user training as needed. Partner with HR leadership to optimize workflows and automate processes. Perform HR documentation audits for completion. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems and Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and highly organized. Strong oral and written communication skills. Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 2-4 years of HR operations experience, including benefits and payroll administration.
