Business Segment Overview: Commercial: With boots on the ground authenticity at the heart of everything we do, our comprehensive array of commercial products and services enable you to work directly with our clients, across hedging, risk management, execution and clearing, OTC products, commodity finance and more. Responsibilities Position purpose: the role would be responsible for leading the analytics effort and resulting reporting of that to senior management, business leaders, and outside stakeholders. Data would be pulled from multiple sources. A primary source of data would be the businesses’ CTRM (Commodity Trading and Risk Management Systems), but would expect to combine data with other internal and external market data sources, accounting reports, and various other forms of data. Examples include measuring return on various investment metrics (Capital, Risk, Operational Complexity) against business returns, owning daily Borrowing Base reporting to our syndicate of lenders, preparation of Daily Profit and Loss statement and reconciling to business expected P&L, and creation of logistics and trade reports to assist in better management of the business. A successful candidate in this role is expected to have a keen familiarity with accounting and financial reporting, to be able to help extract insights from financial trends. They would have a technical skillset in SQL, ideally extracting data using API Calls, and experience building complex reports from multiple data sources. Ideally they would have experience within the commodities trading industry. This role would initially start managing 3 analysts and has the potential for significant growth within the role and firm. Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities: • Manages the role of analytics, reporting and FP&A within the firm – building a single global analytics function inside of an existing growing commodity trader. • Work with various internal and external stakeholders to design analysis and reports to better assist in management of the overall business. • Understand the modelling of transactions within our various CTRM systems to design and normalize analysis that understands that diverse modelling. • Build those analytics into understandable and well organized reports using tools like Excel, PowerBi, Tableau or equivalent. Qualifications To land this role you will need: • 5+ years of Analytics experience • A strong technical skillset, including experience in SQL, ideally an analytics language like R or Python (or VBA), and experience using those tools to pull data via API. • Experience with reporting tools like PowerBI or Tableau. What makes you stand out: • Analytics experience within physical commodity trader, processor or producer Education / Certification Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Working Environment: • The ideal candidate would be available in the office 4 days a week in either Seattle, WA; Kansas City, MO; or Des Moines, IA. Other offices may be available, but these are where the current concentration of teams are located. Hiring Salary Range $110,000 - $175,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.)   Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.  This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
