Job Summary The Industrial Engineer Intern will participate in projects for the implementation of Lean manufacturing with direction and support from the Operational Excellence team. The individual will collaborate with the team learning fundamental lean tools to aid in optimizing performance, processes, and systems. In addition, this role will support any analytical tasks as they are needed such as packaging support, capacity support, financial labor routing or documentation. Principle Responsibilities • Lean Support • Utilize lean tools to collect data for improvement projects • Identify opportunities for process improvements using lean tools • Value stream mapping • MSD (manufacturing system design) tool evaluation • Change agent for lean initiatives • Implementation of physical change improvements • Facilitate 5S activities • Identify modifications needed to optimize ergonomics for operator workspace and part presentation • Analytical Support • Product line capacity analysis • Routing: time studies • AutoCAD Plant/line layouts • Documentation maintenance, updates • Product packaging: studies, customer contact • Cross-functional problem solving • 5 Why • PDCA (Plan Do Check Act) thought processes • Systemic problem breakdown Stoneridge is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
