Role Description S2RC is seeking a Business Development Intern to support our Industrial Solutions practice, focused on safety modernization, workforce training, and compliance services across sectors such as logistics, manufacturing, infrastructure, and related industrial domains. This role is designed as a hands-on learning opportunity, providing exposure to real-world B2B sales, AI-enhanced workflows, and go-to-market strategy in a high-growth, technology-forward small business. This internship is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in business development, sales, or marketing within industrial and defense-adjacent markets. Key Responsibilities Lead Generation Support · Research and identify prospective client organizations in logistics, manufacturing, industrial services, insurance, and related sectors. · Build and maintain targeted prospect lists using LinkedIn, industry directories, and internal tools. · Assist in scheduling and confirming discovery meetings for senior staff. Client Discovery & Meeting Support · Prepare briefing notes on prospects prior to discovery calls (company overview, key contacts, recent news, relevant safety/compliance context). · Join select discovery or follow-up calls to capture notes, action items, and next steps. · Document key client pain points and opportunities to support proposal development and executive handoff. Market & Competitive Research · Conduct research on industry trends, safety and compliance challenges, and buyer personas in target verticals. · Summarize findings into concise briefs or slide content for internal use. · Track competitor offerings and positioning to inform messaging and targeting strategies. Outreach & Content Assistance · Assist in drafting outreach messaging, including email templates, LinkedIn messages, and light marketing content tailored to specific industries. · Support the testing and refinement of outreach sequences under guidance from the Business Development Manager and leadership. CRM & Data Hygiene · Update and maintain lead, contact, and opportunity records in the CRM system (Zoho). · Log meetings, notes, and follow-ups to ensure accurate pipeline tracking and reporting. · Help monitor basic performance metrics (e.g., response rates, meeting conversion) and support simple reporting tasks. Proposal & Sales Operations Support · Provide basic support to proposal writing and review efforts (e.g., assembling boilerplate sections, formatting, organizing figures/tables, checking alignment with client requirements). · Assist in organizing past performance artifacts, case studies, and sales collateral for reuse in opportunities. Requirements • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering Management, or a related field. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, professional messages and summaries. • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to stay organized across multiple tasks, leads, and follow-ups. • Comfortable learning and using digital tools such as CRM systems, online research platforms, and outreach tools (e.g., LinkedIn, email sequencing tools). • Interest in safety, training, industrial/operational environments, or defense-related markets. • Ability to work independently with guidance and to ask clarifying questions when needed. • Based in or near Phoenix, AZ, with the ability to participate in a hybrid work model. • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
