Department: Operations Job Description: JOB SUMMARY: Reporting up to the Director of Driver Operations, The Driver Manager Operations Leader oversees all daily operational activities for a team of 10 Driver Managers and up to 500 drivers. JOB DESCRIPTION: Key Responsibilities Evaluating critical business needs and creating standard operating procedures that resolve both fluid and concrete situations Monitoring and improving Utilization, Turnover, Home Time, Service and Safety KPI’s Fostering driver tenure and reduce turnover for assigned driver fleet Pulling large data sets directly from AS/400 and use information to pinpoint trends, analyze fleet productivity Managing the day-to-day dynamics including assisting with the hiring, performance management, and succession planning of your team Championing customer service through an intense focus on operational excellence Reporting KPI performance daily to all levels of leadership QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications 3+ years of relevant transportation management experience with a sizable fleet Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions Demonstrated experience with route optimization and vehicle tracking software Highly organized and communicative – must be able to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externally Ability to perform in an environment with ambiguous situations, rapidly changing priorities, and competing deadlines Proven record of making well-informed decisions in both routine and emergency situations High degree of initiative and independent execution.
