Job Description The Environmental Chemistry Lab (Dr. Tao Ye) in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking a Research Intern for a summer research internship. The intern will participate in faculty-supervised research related to environmental chemistry and engineering, with a focus on water quality, disinfection byproducts, and experimental and data-driven analysis. The position is designed to provide hands-on research training in an academic laboratory setting. The intern will assist with laboratory experiments, sample preparation, data collection and analysis, literature review, and general research support activities. The intern will work closely with graduate students and the faculty supervisor and is expected to follow all laboratory safety and research protocols. Department Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering Compensation Range In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the hourly base range for this position is $16–$20. This range represents the University’s good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position’s scope and responsibilities, the candidate’s experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
