I am looking for an Automation Test Engineer to design and support automated test systems for IoT-enabled access and control products. This is NOT an IT software QA role — it’s a hardware and systems-focused engineering position in a manufacturing and R&D environment, where you’ll work directly with embedded systems, sensors, and test automation equipment. You’ll play a critical role in bringing connected access technologies to life, ensuring every product that leaves our line performs flawlessly. Overview of Responsibilities • Design, program, and maintain automated test equipment for IoT and electromechanical products • Develop test programs using LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, or C/C# • Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and test system issues • Partner with product engineers to validate performance before release • Ensure reliability, accuracy, and repeatability of test systems Qualifications • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering field • 3+ years in product testing or validation within manufacturing or R&D • Hands-on experience with automated test systems and embedded devices • Knowledge of electronics, sensors, and communication protocols (UART, CAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.) • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Preferred: Experience testing IoT products, familiarity with Six Sigma or similar process disciplines #inLS About us…Sterling Engineering, in business for 56 years …we offer FULL BENEFITS!
