Sterling Engineering is partnering with a well-established manufacturer to bring on a Maintenance Technician. This is a hands-on position between equipment and facilities maintenance. The role involves routine mechanical upkeep, light facilities work, and vendor coordination—ideal for someone with a strong general maintenance background who enjoys variety. Job Duties: • Install, repair, rebuild, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment—primarily gearboxes, belts, and other standard components. • Diagnose and troubleshoot machine malfunctions; escalate technical issues (e.g., CNC repair) to outside service vendors. • Rebuild or overhaul machine components including dismantling, inspection, and part replacement. • Perform facility maintenance including plumbing, conduit runs, and rare equipment moves. • Execute or support preventive maintenance (PM) tasks—goal is to build out and stay ahead of PM plans. • Coordinate with third-party vendors for services like HVAC repair, CNC work, lawn care, and snow removal. • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records. • Submit part and service requests as needed. • Follow all safety, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures. Qualifications: • Strong general maintenance experience across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and basic HVAC. • Comfortable handling both facility and equipment maintenance tasks. • Familiarity with common issues like belts, motors, gearboxes, and drive systems. • Proactive mindset toward implementing and following a preventive maintenance plan. • Ability to coordinate and communicate with external vendors and service providers. • Experience in a manufacturing or job shop setting preferred. • Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working across the facility. • Detail-oriented and safety-conscious.
