The Purchasing & Planning Specialist plays a key role in supporting production by managing material procurement, inventory planning, and supplier relationships. This position works closely with engineering, accounting, and production teams to ensure materials are available on time and aligned with production schedules and cost targets. Key Responsibilities • Manage purchasing of materials and components to support production needs • Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) in coordination with engineering • Support production scheduling through effective material planning • Source vendors, obtain quotes, and negotiate pricing and lead times • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships • Collaborate cross-functionally to align material availability with production demands • Ensure inventory accuracy through audits and best practices • Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, or inventory management in manufacturing • Experience with ERP systems (QuickBooks or similar) • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Kanban systems is a plus Company DescriptionWe are a firm focused in the STEM Talent Arena; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
