Position Overview: The Capacity Planning Manager for Dealer Fixed Operations is responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing the operational capacity of dealership service departments. This role ensures that dealer resources-including stall count, technician staffing, advisor staffing, and service throughput-are balanced to meet customer demand and reduce service wait times. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in automotive fixed operations to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities: • Dealer Stall Count Management: Evaluate current and future stall requirements based on forecasted service volumes and recommend adjustments to maximize resource utilization. • Technician Capacity Analysis: Track and analyze dealer technician staffing levels, identifying gaps and partnering with management to ensure optimal technician-to-stall ratios. • Service Advisor Capacity: Assess advisor staffing needs relative to service demand and customer engagement, ensuring efficient customer flow and communication. • Throughput Optimization: Monitor and improve dealer throughput by analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying bottlenecks, and implementing best practices for process efficiency. • Days to Wait Reduction: Analyze and report on service appointment lead times, collaborating with dealership leadership to reduce days-to-wait and enhance customer experience. • Forecasting and Planning: Use historical data, market trends, and predictive analytics to forecast capacity requirements and develop strategic staffing and facility plans. • Reporting and Communication: Prepare regular reports and presentations for leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations on capacity planning and operational improvements. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with service management, HR, and training teams to ensure alignment of staffing, development, and operational goals. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree • 5+ years of experience in dealership fixed operations, capacity planning, or service management • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to influence and collaborate across teams Preferred Qualifications: • MBA • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and project management is preferred
