Lead Forward Deployed Engineer - (Customer) – Applied AI 📍 Austin, Texas (Hybrid – 3 days in office) 🤖 AI Platforms | Enterprise Architecture | Customer-Facing Engineering Represented by Stax – DeepTech & AI Talent Partner Stax is partnering with a fast-scaling AI-native software company building a platform designed to transform how organisations connect product, engineering, support, and customer operations. Their platform unifies structured and unstructured data into a single AI-ready system, enabling intelligent search, automation, and AI-driven workflows across entire organisations. As enterprise adoption accelerates, they are expanding their Applied AI Engineering team and hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers designing and deploying AI-powered solutions. The Role As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you’ll act as a technical strategist embedded with enterprise customers, helping them design and implement AI-driven transformations across their systems and workflows. This role sits at the intersection of: • Applied AI engineering • Enterprise solution architecture • Customer-facing technical leadership • Systems integration You’ll work closely with customer stakeholders, pre-sales teams, and internal engineering groups to translate complex business problems into scalable AI-powered solutions. What You’ll Do • Understand Customer Context Develop deep knowledge of customer domains, systems, and operational goals to guide solution design. • Architect AI Solutions Design intelligent workflows, AI agents, and system integrations that align with customer objectives and industry best practices. • Act as a Trusted Technical Advisor Build strong relationships with customer stakeholders and guide them through AI adoption and deployment. • Bridge Teams & Translate Requirements Connect pre-sales, customer success, engineering, and product teams to ensure technical solutions align with business outcomes. • Design Scalable Architectures Build modular, reusable solution frameworks that can scale across customers and industries. • Support Delivery & Implementation Collaborate with applied AI engineers to ensure high-quality execution of solutions. • Partner with Pre-Sales Help scope technical solutions for new opportunities and assess feasibility and implementation strategies. • Drive Innovation Stay ahead of developments in AI, automation, and enterprise integration. Expect up to 50% travel for customer discovery, deployment, and technical workshops. What We’re Looking For • 7+ years in solution architecture, technical consulting, or enterprise software implementations • Experience working directly with enterprise customers in technical roles • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) • Familiarity with generative AI technologies and AI-driven workflows • Strong understanding of APIs, webhooks, integrations, and data pipelines • Ability to translate business needs into technical architectures Additional strengths include: • Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience delivering complex enterprise transformation projects • SaaS or platform architecture experience (multi-tenant systems, extensibility) • Experience defining and measuring success through KPIs and OKRs Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
