We are seeking a Broadcast Systems Administrator (IS Technical Services Specialist) for our Core Engineering team. The Broadcast Systems Administrator serves under general supervision of the Director of Core Engineering and is based in Madison, WI. Occasional remote work requests may be granted with supervisor approval based on projects and departmental need. Position Summary ECB's Broadcast Systems Administrator serves as administrator for all of ECB's broadcast-related IT systems and infrastructure. They provide troubleshooting and maintenance for these systems, to ensure system performance and high reliability. They provide technical support for broadcast operations, troubleshooting issues that impact the on-air broadcast environment and coordinating with other teams for timely resolution. Special Requirements: • Requires a variable, non-traditional work schedule including some nights and weekends. • Requires regular standby or on-call status, which will be compensated in accordance with the State Compensation Plan. • Requires in-state travel (15%). For more information, please view the complete position description . Salary Information This classification is assigned to pay schedule-range 07-33. The starting hourly rate for the Broadcast Systems Administrator (IS Technical Services Specialist) position will be between $40.00 - $50.00 per hour ($83,200.00 and $104,00.00 annually), depending on candidate qualifications, plus excellent benefits. For current and eligible former State employees, compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period may be required. Job Details Due to the nature of the position, ECB will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. ECB does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form. This position requires in-state travel (15%). The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license that meets the State's Risk Management requirements and provide evidence of auto insurance if using a personal vehicle for work or have the ability to obtain reliable transportation on a consistent basis. Qualifications Qualified applicants will have EACH of the following: • Experience as the primary or responsible expert supporting modern information technology such as Windows and Linux servers, network switches, routers, firewalls, and purpose-built appliances in support of 24/7 broadcast operations. • Experience using scripting and automation to reduce the administrative burden to maintain and monitor continuously operating technology in support of 24/7 broadcast operations. • Experience supporting peers and colleagues to maximize broadcast quality and reliability.
