The Information Technology Division (ITD) exists to leverage technology to enhance and sustain business processes, public safety infrastructure, and statewide emergency communications to facilitate the accomplishment of all agency goals. The Assistant Division Commander reports directly to the Division Commander and assists in strategic and tactical planning, budgeting, and developing agency Information Technology policies and procedures. In addition, the position will plan, lead, organize, and control the quality of services provided by the division. In the absence of the Division Commander, this position assumes primary responsibilities to direct, control, and manage the division’s operations and resources. Our new teammate will be able to: • Provide primary support in managing the Information Technology Division. • Assist with the development and maintenance of the ITD Operational Plan and Technology Roadmap. • Manage the Division Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Serve as the ITD Division Commander when the Commander is absent or unavailable. • Maintain the PDF templates and Style Guide providing updates to language as needed. • Manage the division vacancies, recruitment, and hiring processes. • Monitor operations to resolve issues, correct procedural concerns, and bring issues that need to be addressed outside of the Division to the Commander. • Supervise the primary operational unit managers (CSU, LEOS, and IO). • Assigns and reviews work. • Sets goals, objectives, and expectations. • Ensures compliance with best practices and applicable policies. • Ensures program objectives are met. • Serves as technical mentor, coach, and trainer to subordinates. • Ensures Lean Process improvements in respective programs. • Provides opportunity for employee growth and development. • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance and oversight to business owners across the agency. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology or a business management field (or closely related field). • Working experience in an IT management field may be substituted for education year-for-year. • 4 years' experience as a supervisor, manager or project manager in an IT enterprise organization.
