Description Be a part of something new. Our Lake Burien Transitional Care Facility is being established by Washington State's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) in partnership with the Department of Children, Youth and Families, Health Care Authority, and with generous support from MultiCare and Seattle Children's Hospital. We are seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented professional who excels at building relationships, managing multiple priorities, and advancing safety through proactive planning. The ideal candidate thrives under changing conditions, communicates clearly, and drives results with minimal oversight. In this role, you will ensure the safety and security of residents and employees while driving the facility's safety and emergency management programs. Operated by DSHS's Developmental Disabilities Administration, the facility has 12 beds and 108 full-time employees, with potential growth to 24 beds and 196+ employees. You'll partner with leadership to uphold and improve emergency management practices that ensure a safe environment for staff and youth. You'll develop policies, evaluate safety programs, and implement improvements that strengthen overall preparedness. Designed with youth in mind, the property features accessible spaces for education, therapies, and outdoor recreation. The voluntary facility serves 12 youths, ages 13 and older, who have co-occuring intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex needs such as mental illness or substance use disorder. This new facility provides a therapeutic, child-focused environment for care and recovery. King County employees receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary and are eligible to receive a free ORCA card for transportation use. Some of what you will do Develop, implement, and manage facility safety and emergency management programs in compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA standards. Review accident and injury reports, conducting root cause analyses and recommending corrective actions. Ensure ongoing compliance with laws and safety regulations. Assess and update safety training to reflect current best practices. Identify opportunities to reduce workplace injuries and incidents. Oversee accident investigations and ensure accurate training and documentation. Lead facility Life/Fire Safety programs, prevention activities, and emergency drills. Conduct safety inspections and collaborate with the Facility Management team on corrective actions. Coordinate risk assessments and develop action plans with leadership. Manage safety program records and job hazard assessments. Liaise with external agencies during audits and work with internal partners such as the Enterprise Risk Management Office.
