OR 6 or more years of relevant professional work experience. Overview Data Analytics Specialist, Seniors are responsible for extracting, analyzing, validating, and reporting data. Seniors utilize complex queries and analytics in SQL, SAS, Tableau, and other languages in addition to conducting advanced data procedures, analyses, and advanced statistical methods. The Data Analytics Specialist, Seniors maintain relations and communicates frequently with many internal and external business users, vendors, and/or stakeholders to explain data reports and analyses. They provide data and analytics services to multiple business units as well as stakeholders beyond the agency and may be involved with strategic planning regarding complex programs. Responsibilities • Conduct advanced data queries and aggregations, dashboard preparation and maintenance, narrative report writing, documentation of procedures; and quality check complex ad hoc requests using statistical and data software analytical programs (SAS, SQL, Python, and/or Tableau). • Perform advanced descriptive, predictive, and inferential statistical analyses. • Maintains relations and communicates frequently with many internal and external business users, vendors, and/or stakeholders to explain data reports and analyses. Discussion may focus on data interpretation, supporting conclusions made from the data, and helping stakeholders understand how to utilize analytics deliverables. • Create new reports that have not been created previously using multiple databases and/or designing queries and providing a report with findings for multiple questions. Some tasks may involve more complex queries. • Utilize a strong understanding of complex program details (e.g., Medicaid claims, pharmaceutical classifications, taxes, etc.) to complete job duties, and analytics query requires integration of programmatic components to accurately establish data analysis. May regularly liaise with key stakeholders and management of various departments, units, and external organizations on behalf of assigned department and programs.
