Job Description and Duties Program Manager II Vice President, Corporate Underwriting Quality & Compliance State Compensation Insurance Fund's Corporate Underwriting Department is looking for a well-qualified candidate who has leadership and underwriting experience and is hungry to lead high-energy teams of experts through the most complex and impactful technical projects in Corporate Underwriting. Under the general direction of the Chief Underwriting Officer, this role will provide strategic leadership, management oversight and guidance to the Corporate Underwriting Quality & Compliance teams who conduct operations in the following disciplines: • Customer Assistance Program (CAP) Unit • Premium Leakage Prevention Unit • Experience Rating & WCIRB Compliance Unit • Policy File Review (PFR) Unit • Quality Assurance Output Review Unit • Underwriting Training Development Unit We are California's largest provider of workers' compensation insurance, and a vital asset to California businesses. This Program Manager position is a vital role in a challenging yet rewarding environment. Among other things, you'll: • Create, manage and execute the strategic and operational business plans to achieve corporate goals and program objectives for Corporate Underwriting Quality & Compliance. • Establish current and long-range goals for Corporate Underwriting Quality & Compliance, and develop the strategic and tactical projections and key metrics to monitor the success of strategy implementation. Ensure program objectives and deliverables are met with the highest quality. • Proactively identify market trends, insights and industry dynamics in the areas of responsibility. Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that drive performance of program responsibilities. • Identify opportunities and risks associated with changes in the internal/external environments which are relevant for Corporate Underwriting Quality & Compliance. • Ensure the successful development and performance management of employees by establishing operational expectations/goals, and ensuring effective ongoing feedback loops and mentoring by your management team. • Develop and nurture effective internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to ensure Corporate Underwriting is optimizing its impact in direct alignment with company goals. • Effectively communicate the strategic vision of Corporate Underwriting, in written and verbal communications and public speaking roles as required by this position.
