Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential Responsibilities This posting is for a software engineer position on State Farm's Sales Service and Assignment Application team (SSAA). We are a full stack development team that operates with an agile mindset in a hybrid work environment. We provide products and services that provide a common platform to view and manage State Farm Agent and Agent Team Member information from initial hire throughout their career. We are a “one-stop shop" for viewing and managing State Farm Agent/Agent Team Member, leveraging technology and business process improvements to drive integration and automation, improving accuracy, security, and efficiency for the Enterprise. We strive to continually enhance our services so that any customers can locate and learn about SF agents in any manner the customer chooses. Responsibilities • Design, develop, implement, test, and support products for business areas (creating new or modifying existing applications/tools to meet technical specifications or business needs) • Provides support for problem resolution and provides technical consultation to business partners • Identify problems, related technical issues and the approach to long-term, repeatable solutions meeting customer/grantor needs • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, story development, team retrospectives, etc. • Maintain and continue to develop breadth of knowledge in software engineering topics, including classes, functions, security, containers, version control, CI/CD, and unit tests • Maintain and continue to develop breadth of knowledge in Cloud related technologies, Lambda (NodeJs/Java), APIGateway, DynamoDB, Postgres • Maintain and continue to develop breadth of knowledge in programming (e.g., Java, JavaScript), and database functionality (e.g., SQL, Postgres) • Develop an understanding of user experience best practices and test designs and standards • Collaborate with business subject matter resources to design and build a solution that meets business requirements • Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly and share knowledge with the team Qualifications We Are Looking for Candidates With • JavaScript libraries & frameworks, CSS, JSON • Core Java, J2EE and related frameworks, Spring Boot, REST services • CI/CD pipelines that leverage tools like Gitlab, and GitOps • Knowledge of AWS services (S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, etc.) Nice to have skills/experiences • Experience designing, architecting and implementing solutions in AWS via automation (e.g. Terraform) • Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar technologies) to improve software development productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
