As director, Global Coffee Development & Tea Sourcing, you will lead the next chapter of Starbucks' coffee and tea journey. You will advance our global coffee expertise with our unique development approach to deliver the finest coffees in the world. This role will focus on unlocking future growth in both coffee and tea through strategic sourcing, program and value-chain optimization. This role has meaningful impact on the business, the company mission and the entire coffee & tea path to market, ultimately supporting customers, Partners and farmers. This role contributes to Starbucks success by leading the strategy, development, and execution of global coffee innovation and tea sourcing initiatives. This partner will collaborate with broader Global Coffee & Tea leadership and cross-functional teams to drive product innovation, ensure quality throughout the value chain and an efficient and productive coffee and tea portfolio. The director will steward the end-to-end process from origin to cup, ensuring alignment with Starbucks values, business goals, and global standards. As a director, Global Coffee Development and Tea Sourcing, you will Lead the vision and strategy for global coffee development and tea sourcing, partnering with executive leadership to set priorities and drive results across the enterprise Oversee the creation and execution of new coffee and tea products, from origin to blend to roast, partnering with business units, manufacturing, sourcing, supply chain and quality assurance Champion sustainability and sourcing practices, ensuring Starbucks remains a leader in responsible coffee and tea procurement Steward cross-functional alignment and momentum on key initiatives, building strong relationships and influencing outcomes across supply chain, brand, sustainability, and business teams Steward Starbucks Coffee quality across coffee development, roasting and path to market Combine deep industry knowledge, data analysis, stakeholder input, and creative problem-solving to deliver breakthrough solutions in coffee and tea programs Represent Starbucks as a subject matter expert in coffee and tea, both internally and externally, inspiring partners and stakeholders with your passion and expertise Drive continuous improvement in coffee operations, quality standards, and sourcing practices to ensure the highest product excellence We'd love to hear from people with: 10+ years of experience in coffee/tea manufacturing, coffee industry, product development, and/or global sourcing (or highly transferrable industries) - ideally in a global, multi-market environment Proven ability to lead diverse, cross-cultural teams and influence senior leadership Proven experience leading large-scale, cross-functional projects in the food, beverage, or agricultural commodities space Strong strategic thinking and operational planning skills; Excellence in written and verbal communication and storytelling Passion for coffee and tea, with a commitment to heritage, sustainability and innovation Proven track record of leading teams (directly and indirectly) through a continuous improvement mindset, with strength in problem-solving and navigating ambiguity Experience working across organizational boundaries at all levels, including high-visibility, executive-level stakeholders Ideally, International and North America industry experience As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits. If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
