Description Join Star as our next Vice President of Product Management - Wells Ventless Solutions, a leader in innovative ventless cooking technology and part of the Middleby family of brands, is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Product Management to drive our sales, compliance, product strategy, innovation, and growth. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in shaping the future of our ventless portfolio, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring that our products exceed the expectations of customers in the ever-evolving foodservice industry. As VP of Product Management, you’ll combine market insight, customer focus, and technical expertise to deliver solutions that set new standards in performance, safety, and design. The VP Product Management role is to strategically create and follow a business roadmap to enhance the features for a product, ensuring it meets customer needs and aligns with business goals. While leading cross-functional teams through the product line’s new product development, business planning, innovation, customer relations, quality and enhancements while actively gathering market and customer feedback to guide decision-making throughout the product 5-year business roadmap and beyond. Duties and responsibilities Product Strategy And Vision • Develop a comprehensive product roadmap aligned with business goals, including feature prioritization and timelines. • Conduct field and market research and competitive analysis to justify product strategy. • Identify and define user requests, requirements, and needs to clearly articulate to the engineering team and various stakeholders. Technical Collaboration • Work closely with engineers to translate product requirements into technical specifications. • Assess technical feasibility of proposed features and provide and approve input on design decisions. • Manage project line backlogs and prioritize engineering tasks. Stakeholder Management • Communicate product vision and progress to cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and leadership. • Facilitate alignment between engineering teams, design teams, and business stakeholders. • Manage expectations and address concerns from various stakeholders. Training And Promoting • Create and execute in person and online trainings for Sales, marketing, Reps, Dealers, Consultants, designers and customers. • Attend trade shows, symposiums, lectures and marketing events to further enhance the product lines relevance, visibility, and name recognition. • Work with sales, marketing and leadership to create marketing tools. • Remain up to date with new technology, code compliance and industry standards to remain the industry leader in the product category. Job Skills Technical Understanding: • Strong grasp of engineering concepts, sales techniques, and technologies relevant to the product category. • Product Management Skills: • Ability to prioritize features, manage product roadmaps, cross-functional needs and communications, and define user experiences. Communication • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Collaboration • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, sales and business leaders. Adaptability • The ability to make changes and pivot as necessary to ne both proactive and reactive changes with the market, budget, and business road map. Analytical Skills • Data-driven approach to decision making and problem solving. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in related field or 3 years of experience in an Engineering role • 5 years of hands-on experience with customers and internal stakeholders • Fundamental understanding of Engineering principles • Self-starter and hands-on approach • Proficient in Microsoft Office including - Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word • Working conditions • This position will require frequent travel up to 80%. • Physical requirements • Will be required to lift up to 30lbs occasionally. • Direct reports • None at the moment, will require direct reports as the product line grows.
