Job Summary Join our dynamic eye care team as an Optometric Technician / Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and skilled assistant that ensures a smooth and exceptional patient experience. In this vital role, you will support the clinical team by preparing patients for exams, assisting with optical procedures, and managing front desk operations. Duties • Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify their information, and facilitate efficient check-in and check-out processes using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eyefinity. • Collect and document patient intake information, including medical history, current medications, and reason for visit, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Prepare patients for eye examinations by performing preliminary tests like autorefraction, OCT, ICare, visual field assessments, and contact lens trainings. • Manage medical records diligently, ensuring HIPAA compliance while organizing documentation related to medical coding, billing, and insurance claims. • Handle front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments, answering phone inquiries professionally, and managing patient flow efficiently. • Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment. Experience • Prior experience in a medical office setting or ophthalmology/optometry clinic is preferred; familiarity with Eyefinity or other EMR systems is a plus. • Some knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy (especially ocular anatomy) is a plus • Background in retail sales or customer service enhances your ability to connect with patients while promoting optical products confidently. • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensures confidentiality of patient information at all times is a plus. • Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail is essential.
