We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to help design, build, and maintain modern digital banking applications and integrations. This role is best suited for a mid‑level engineer who enjoys hands‑on development, learning new systems, and collaborating closely with business and technology partners. This position is hybrid, based onsite in Palo Alto, CA Who You Are * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience * 3–5 years of professional software development experience, including full‑stack application development * Hands‑on experience building applications using: * Modern front‑end frameworks such as React (Angular is a plus) * Back‑end technologies such as Node.js or Python * Relational databases using SQL * Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs with an understanding of secure coding practices * Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to debug and resolve application issues * Ability to work independently while managing priorities in a collaborative, deadline‑driven environment * Clear written and verbal communication skills Nice to have (not required): * Exposure to financial services, banking, or credit union environments * Familiarity with legacy systems or languages (e.g., Perl) * Experience with project tracking tools such as Jira What You’ll Do * Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable full‑stack applications * Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code across front‑end and back‑end components * Build and consume secure APIs and third‑party integrations * Troubleshoot and resolve application issues in development and production environments * Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver practical technical solutions * Participate in code reviews and follow established development and release processes * Contribute to technical documentation and team knowledge sharing * Support ongoing improvements and gradual modernization of existing applications Some of Our Benefits for You * 100% paid employee medical, dental, vision, life/AD&D, and short‑term disability insurance; 50% paid for dependents * Quarterly incentives up to 10% of salary (based on position) * Employer 401(k) matching up to 5% plus additional annual discretionary contributions * Education reimbursement up to $5,200 per year * Wellness benefits up to $1,200 per year * Paid sick time (accrues at approximately two weeks per year) * Paid vacation time (accrues at approximately three weeks per year) * Paid Federal banking holidays (approximately 11 per year) * Commuter toll reimbursement ($100–$200 per month, based on position) * Ongoing training, seminars, and conferences * Loan rate discounts and waived fees on select SFCU products * Employee Assistance Program with counseling and family support resources Stanford Federal Credit Union provides competitive pay ranges based on factors including (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities, qualifications, and external market conditions.
