Americans for Prosperity is part of the Stand Together philanthropic community. Americans for Prosperity is seeking a Manager of External Affairs. As part of the Government Affairs Team, the External Affairs Team builds and manages relationships with key stakeholders - from advocacy groups and think tanks to industry leaders, corporations, and congressional and White House staff - to advance shared priorities. It works with individuals who can advocate for AFP's goals, support communication and negations, share reliable intelligence, and coordinate joint efforts. It also manages Government Affairs-related marquee events and sponsorships within the Washington, DC area. How You Will Contribute • Produce external affairs communication to partners including regular updates on legislative and campaign activity as well as collaboration opportunities • Serve as liaison for specific Capitol Hill committee relationships • Represent AFP at coalition meetings, conferences, and events • Oversee Washington DC sponsorships and support Government Affairs-related marquee events • Oversee all coalition letter activity • Produce intelligence updates on key legislative priorities What You Will Bring • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience • A highly driven, go getter attitude • Existing relationships and credibility with key stakeholders • Strong communication, writing, and presentation skills • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, environment • Enthusiasm to contribute to Stand Together's vision and principled approach to solving problems, and a commitment to stewarding our culture, which champions values including transformation and innovation, entrepreneurialism, humility, and respect. For this position we anticipate paying between $100,000 - $140,000 per year and this position may be eligible for additional bonus compensation. Actual amount may be higher or lower based on various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location.
