Job Title: Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer Company Overview: Stafford Gray is a leading technology solutions provider based in Mid-Michigan, specializing in innovative data management and software development services. Role Overview: As the Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). Your expertise will ensure the system's reliability and effectiveness in supporting disease monitoring and public health responses. What You'll Do: - You will provide ongoing maintenance and support for the MDSS, ensuring system stability and performance. - You will lead the development and implementation of new features and improvements. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. - You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime. - You will mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. - You will ensure data integrity and security within the surveillance system. - You will document system changes and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. - You will stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to enhance system capabilities. What You Bring: - You have at least 7 years of experience in data engineering or software development. - You possess strong skills in database management, ETL processes, and data integration. - You have proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. - You have experience working with public health data systems or similar large-scale data platforms. - You demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - You have strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS) or similar public health surveillance systems. - Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. - Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. - Certifications in data engineering or cloud technologies.
