Job Title: Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer Company Overview: Stafford Gray is a leading technology solutions provider based in Mid-Michigan, specializing in innovative data management and software development services. Role Overview: As the Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). Your expertise will ensure the system's reliability and effectiveness in supporting disease monitoring and public health responses. What You'll Do: - You will provide ongoing maintenance and support for the MDSS, ensuring system stability and performance. - You will lead the development and implementation of new features and improvements. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions. - You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime. - You will mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. - You will ensure data integrity and security within the surveillance system. - You will participate in code reviews and enforce best practices. - You will contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team. What You Bring: - You have at least 7 years of experience in data engineering or software development. - You possess strong skills in database management, ETL processes, and data integration. - You are proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. - You have experience working with public health data systems or similar domains. - You demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - You are located in Mid-Michigan and able to work on-site. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. - Familiarity with disease surveillance or healthcare data standards. - Leadership experience in agile development environments. - Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations.
