Job Title: Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer Company Overview: Stafford Gray is a leading technology solutions provider based in Mid-Michigan, specializing in innovative data management and software development services. Role Overview: As the Senior Lead Developer - Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). Your expertise will ensure the system's reliability and effectiveness in supporting disease monitoring and public health responses. What You'll Do: - You will provide ongoing maintenance and support for the Michigan Disease Surveillance System (MDSS). - You will lead the development and implementation of data engineering solutions to improve system performance. - You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new data sources and enhance data quality. - You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure system stability. - You will mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance. - You will participate in code reviews and enforce best practices. - You will document system changes and maintain technical documentation. - You will work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet public health needs. What You Bring: - You have at least 7 years of experience in data engineering or software development. - You possess strong skills in data pipeline development and database management. - You have experience with public health data systems or similar large-scale data platforms. - You are proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala. - You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - You are a strong communicator and team leader. Bonus Points If You Have: - Experience working with disease surveillance or epidemiological data. - Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. - Familiarity with data security and compliance standards. - Experience with real-time data processing and analytics.
