Job Title: Regulatory Affairs Specialist – Pesticide Registration (FIFRA) Location: Trumbull, CT Work Model: Hybrid (Preferred) • Onsite: Wednesday & Thursday (Trumbull, CT) • Remote: Monday, Tuesday, Friday • Occasional travel (once per month) to Stamford, CT Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) Contract Length: 12 months (possible extension up to 6 months; not guaranteed) Pay Rate: $35.00 – $45.00/hr Position Overview: Seeking a Regulatory Affairs Specialist with hands-on U.S. pesticide product registration experience to support a critical regulatory project. This role is fully focused on pesticide products regulated under FIFRA and requires practical, working knowledge of EPA pesticide regulatory processes. The ideal candidate has direct experience supporting pesticide registrations, working cross-functionally with product development and marketing teams, and advising on regulatory requirements, data needs, and acceptable claims. This is a highly specialized role and general regulatory or non-pesticide experience alone is not sufficient. Key Responsibilities: • Support and manage projects related to pesticide product registration, regulatory compliance, and safety • Prepare, support, and manage EPA pesticide registration activities in compliance with FIFRA • Develop, review, and maintain regulatory documentation, including: • Pesticide registration applications • Product labels and claims • Offers-to-pay • Data matrices and supporting materials • Support conventional pesticide registrations, including data generation and efficacy testing requirements • Collaborate cross-functionally with: • Product Development (required studies and testing) • Marketing (claims feasibility and regulatory acceptability) • Innovation and Supply Chain (registration timelines and launch planning) • Advise teams on regulatory requirements for new or modified pesticide products • Monitor and interpret EPA and state-level pesticide regulatory activity, including proposed regulations and legislation • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting scope, timeline, and quality expectations Required Qualifications: Education • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Toxicology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline (required) • Advanced degree in a related field (preferred) Experience & Skills • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in U.S. pesticide product registration (required) • Strong working knowledge of: • FIFRA pesticide regulations (mandatory) • Federal and state pesticide regulatory requirements • Experience supporting or preparing EPA pesticide registration submissions (highly preferred) • Direct submission experience is not mandatory, but working knowledge of the process is required • Experience managing multiple, complex regulatory or registration projects • Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into actionable guidance for business teams • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills Preferred Experience • Experience with conventional pesticide registration (Registration Division) • Background in consumer pest control products (residential use) • Agricultural pesticide registration experience is acceptable and transferable • Experience with EHS, safety compliance, TSCA, and/or California Prop 65 Work Arrangement & Location Requirements • Hybrid work model is strongly preferred • Candidates must be local to Trumbull, CT or able to commute reliably • Exceptional remote candidates may be considered only if: • They meet all technical requirements • They can work Eastern Time hours • Remote status is clearly disclosed at submission Additional Notes • This position is exclusively focused on pesticide products regulated under FIFRA • Experience limited to TSCA, industrial chemicals, cleaners, or non-pesticide products is not sufficient • Candidates must have practical, applied experience, not just academic or theoretical knowledge • The role supports a time-sensitive project, and interviews will move quickly via virtual meetings
