Job Summary Job description/Responsibilities: FULL-TIME (40 HRS) AM SHIFT APPROXIMATE PAY RANGE: $23 - $28 JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for coordinating adequate and appropriate staffing for the Emergency and the Critical Care departments, based on service and hospital needs. Performs various administrative, secretarial and clerical duties. Understands and follows the organization?s policies, procedures and standards. Is an independent worker, meeting the day-to-day needs of the department. Participates in the department?s performance improvement activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -Develops and coordinates staffing schedules to meet individual needs of the Emergency and Critical care departments based on the needs of the department. -Coordinates and makes adjustments to the department schedules as required based on census and staff availability. -Publishes reports and staffing schedules on a regular basis within the required time frames. -Maintains education, competency, and orientation records for the Emergency and Critical Care Departments. Filing in the appropriate employee files. -Responsible for employee schedules, ensuring timely posting of PTO requests, Holidays time off and shift charge requests. Daily posting of staffing needs if any call outs to meet the needs of each department without placing department into overtime. -Assists in securing personnel for absences, etc., adjusting schedules as required. Files staffing change sheets in employee file folders. -Assists department manager with JB Dev adjustments and entries. -Maintains Emergency and Critical Care staff records for vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, holidays, excused and unexcused absences and others as needed. Secretarial training preferred. 3. Minimum three years experience in an acute hospital preferred. 4. Nursing experience preferred. 4. Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. 5. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills. Desired Skills: - Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task. - Attention to detail and problem solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and PowerPoint) - Knowledge of Joint Commission, Environment of Care, and Emergency Management.
