Ensures all materials meet established standards of appearance and content. Position requires a) editing, proofreading, and preparing material for publication b) overseeing production schedules; c) serving as liaison between the publication and authors, printers, and/or publishers/administration; and d) leading/guiding volunteer student staff performing related work.What You'll DoEdits, proofreads, and produces copiesOversees production schedules to ensure completion by set deadlines.Serves as a liaison between the newspaper and writers/staff/administration.May maintain databases and files including those used to track publishing schedule.May coordinate department activities such as production of documents, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining files.May lead, guide, and train staff/student employees, interns, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in the recruitment of volunteers, as appropriate to the area of operation.Weekly meetings with adviser.Proper use of proofreader’s marks.Proofread articles for spelling, grammar, and punctuation, and work with students to achieve the best from them.Work with staff and students to generate content and topic ideas.
