Security Officer - Security #22 Department: Security Location: Far Rockaway, NY Who We Are: St. John s Episcopal Hospital is the only hospital providing emergency and ambulatory care to the densely populated, culturally and economically diverse, and medically underserved populations of the Rockaways and Five Towns in southern Queens County and southwestern Nassau County, New York. Celebrating over 110 years of community care, the 257-bed facility provides people of all faiths with comprehensive preventive, diagnostic treatment and rehabilitative services, regardless of ability to pay. Type: Full-Time (75 hours biweekly) Shift: Nights Hours: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM Pay: $27.52 per hour Job Description • The Security Officer is responsible for policing hospital facilities • Providing security checks at front entrance, detaining and questioning • Responds to fire alerts • Ability to monitor Close Circuit TV • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather Job Requirements • Previous law enforcement experience preferred • Previous experience in a hospital or nursing home setting • High School Diploma or G.E.D. • N.Y.S. Security Officer License, current 8 Hour Annual Security Guard Training Certificate & initial 16 Hour on the Job Security Guard Training Certificate • N.Y.S.
