CREATIVE DIRECTOR (PART-TIME) St John Baptist Church (SJBC) - Columbia, MD Estimated Hours: 20–25 hours/week ABOUT THE ROLE St John Baptist Church is seeking a Part-Time Creative Director who can combine strong creative execution with clear, dependable leadership. This role provides hands-on leadership for SJBC’s marketing, communications, and Sunday service production, ensuring everything we publish and produce reflects our mission, looks excellent, and engages both our church family and the wider community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Marketing & Communications • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all platforms • Write and edit content for weekly church announcements, digital newsletters, website updates, and social media • Design or coordinate graphics and promotional materials for church events and ministry efforts • Plan and manage the church’s communications calendar in alignment with ministry initiatives Sunday & Special Service Production • Oversee planning and execution of Sunday worship production (audio, visual, livestream, visual media) • Collaborate with pastors, worship leaders, and tech volunteers to create cohesive and engaging worship experiences • Lead/support production needs for special services, church events, and seasonal campaigns Creative Leadership • Manage and lead volunteer team who executes photo, video, design, communications tasks • Ensure creative projects are completed on time and within budget • Bring fresh ideas for ministry storytelling, digital engagement, and community outreach REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Committed Christian aligned with SJBC’s mission, values, and worship culture • 3+ years of experience in creative direction, marketing, and/or church production • Proficiency with design and content tools (Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite), social media tools, and worship/streaming tech (e.g., ProPresenter, livestream platforms) • Strong communication, time management, and project coordination skills • Experience leading or partnering closely with volunteers and cross-functional teams Job Type: Part-time Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year Work Location: Hybrid remote in Columbia, MD 21045
